Deputy Principal

Deputy Principals are appointed to schools to assist the Principal in leading and managing the school. They are accountable to the Principal for the provision of this leadership in the areas which are described in the Leading and Managing the School document:

 
Administration
Administration Manager - Mrs L Slaney

The Administration Manager assists the principal in planning and maintaining school routines and is responsible for the efficient management of the school's financial and administration functions. This role also requires the supervision of Administration staff and the promotion of training opportunities.

The first person to greet you when you arrive at the school will probably be the Administration staff or the Administration Manager. All the Administration staff are dedicated and more than willing to assist with any enquiries.

Hunter Sports High School is a partially selective high school located on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead. The 1000 students enrolled at the school are a mix of local students and students selected to participate in the Targeted Sports Program.

Our vision is a school to which students want to come, to which parents want to send their children and in which staff enjoy working.

The mission of Hunter Sports High School is to widen opportunities and promote achievement in a warm and caring environment.

Beliefs and Outcomes
The education environment at Hunter Sports High School is based on the following beliefs:

In addition to helping students achieve specific subject knowledge and skill in their pursuit of academic and sporting excellence, our school aims to help students achieve the following outcomes:
• A positive attitude towards learning.
• A positive attitude towards physical well being and the development of sporting abilities.
• Independence, self-esteem, motivation, tolerance and self-motivation.
• Self-direction as a learner, as a sports person and an individual.
