How does the program work?
Students participating in the program will practice two sessions per week at Charlestown Golf Club under the guidance of Ryan & Janelle Smith. Students will also participate in competitions within the group and against other Sports High Schools. Opportunities will also exist to attend professional competitions as spectators when available.
How does it link to Association/Community Golf?
Participating in the program will help students to develop their golf game and their interest in the sport within school time, as a school subject. This should lead to enhanced results at club level and recognition in the wider community. Students will be encouraged and supported to participate in a wide variety of tournaments.
Who are the Golf Coaches?
Ryan & Janelle are both AA Rated PGA Members and have played professional golf for numerous years before focusing on teaching and providing others with their knowledge of the game. Ryan & Janelle have differing areas of expertise and together offer specialist coaching for improvement on and off the course. Ryan & Janelle hope to work with the current coaches Any students have, the goal is to add new and exciting practice techniques and increase the students knowledge of all areas of their game.
