MOBILE PHONE POLICY
It may be appropriate for some students who travel long distances, to carry a mobile phone for reasons of personal safety, or where parents may need to contact students outside of school hours while en-route to and from school.
Mobile phones are not to be used inside the school grounds for any circumstance and must be turned off when entering the school grounds.
Should a parent need to get in contact with their child during school hours they MUST phone the school on 4943 5755, not the student’s phone.
Mobile Phone Rules
Mobile phones are not permitted to be used while the student is on the school grounds, therefore
ALL CALLS CONCERNING YOUR STUDENT MUST BE DIRECTED THROUGH THE FRONT OFFICE (4943 5755)
Violation of this rule will result in the school discipline policy being followed
Any student caught breaking the Electronic Devices or Mobile Phone Policy will:
- Have the Electronic Device or Mobile Phone confiscated and sent to the front office. Their name will be recorded and the item will be returned at the end of the day.
- If this occurs THREE TIMES, parents/guardians/carers will be called to collect the item and discuss further breaches of policy.
- Any further breach of this rule and parents will be asked to an interview to discuss the repeated persistent disobedience which may lead to suspension.
In cases of deliberate and knowing illegal misuse of this technology, the school may move directly to Level 3 (above) and the police may be notified.
The school accepts responsibility for the security of property once it has been formally confiscated, however the school cannot accept responsibility for the loss or theft of any personal property in the possession of the students. Security is the responsibility of the student alone. We do not have the resources to investigate incidences of theft.
