SPECIAL EDUCATION

The Special Education Unit has three special education classes of mixed ability levels. All students participate in all Key Learning Areas focusing on literacy, numeracy and functional learning skills. Learning tasks are programmed to offer individualized instruction catering for the student’s special needs.

The program has a balance of class room lessons and practical authentic learning experiences. Through the authentic learning experiences such as Community Access, Work programs, environmental projects and a Hospitality program we promote education and work skills as a meaningful pathway to the post school environment. We encourage students to continue their learning as a life long endeavour as an active member of the community.
