The education environment at Hunter Sports High School is based on the following beliefs:

These beliefs underpin everything we do in the school.

In addition to helping students achieve specific subject knowledge and skill in their pursuit of academic and sporting excellence, our school aims to help students achieve the following outcomes;

• A positive attitude towards learning.
• A positive attitude towards physical well being and the development of sporting abilities.
• Independence, self esteem, motivation, tolerance and self motivation.
• Self-direction as a learner, as a sports person and an individual.
• Process skills of problem solving, communication, decision making, accountability, teamwork, foundation skills, knowledge, attitudes and values which will enable them to seek challenges to continue to learn, to maximize potential and to contribute beyond schooling and help them cope with life.
